My name is Joel Nix. Since  2001 I’ve owned an electrical contracting business, Nix Family Electric

Inc. We do a mix of light commercial and residential work.  One of the key things I've learned over

the past decade in this business is that the faster I can create an accurate estimate the better. Every

minute I spend estimating is time taken away from being on the job site or being with my family. 

Today I'm able to finish an estimate in as little as 30 minutes. But it wasn't always this easy.

When I first started my business, I looked at the available electrical estimating software programs,

but couldn't find anything that fit my needs. Like a lot of you, I developed an Excel spreadsheet to
